Welcome
I would like to welcome you to my homepage. You will mostly find an archive of my past and present work here, although, if you look hard enough, you might find the odd piece of private information as well.
Image My professional interests include Grid Computing, stochastic optimization procedures, management sciences, Linux and finding ways of coping with overly bureaucratic organisations. Privately I'm interested in at least four of these topics (plus a few others).

You will need a username and password to access part of this site. Most notably, my full CV is not freely available and invisible, unless you are logged in. If you feel that you need to access this information, please contact me via e-Mail. You will find contact information in the "Contact me" section on the right.

I welcome any comment you might have regarding this page, so please feel free to contact me if you have found incorrect or inaccurate information or if you feel that I should add something to this page.
Again - welcome. And to say it with the SuSE words: "Have a lot of fun!"

Short CV
I have studied physics at the University of Bochum in Germany. Until July 2001 I was a member of SuSE Linux AG, then Europe's leading Linux distributor. Among other duties, I have served as founder and Managing Director of SuSE's UK office (SuSE Linux Ltd) near London / UK. Before I moved to London, I was Technical Manager of SuSE's US office in Oakland/California. In January 2004, I have finished a Ph.D., related to particle physics and distributed computing. Since then I have been active in the field of Grid Computing at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Germany's largest independent research institution and home to one of the biggest scientific cluster systems in Europe. I am today active in various EU projects and gremiums related to Grid Computing, alongside MBA studies.
